Since 2024, NFCACF has been at a crossroads. We were incredibly busy with events in Zagreb and Vis Island, with over 2,000 Croatian Americans attending the CFU Adult and Junior Tam Festival in Croatia. NFCACF organized a memorial reception in Zagreb to honor Dr. William Novick, who operated on over 530 Croatian children (from 1993 to 2003). U.S. Ambassador to Croatia Nathalie Rayes has spoken highly of us for our continued advocacy and all our community engagements in support of Croatia. Additionally, we had a successful 2024 Croatian American Sports Hall of Fame Banquet in Pittsburgh, where 

Eleven athletes were inducted at a sold-out banquet ceremony with 330 guests in attendance.

Now, 2025 has granted us with amazing opportunities with a new class of representatives for the Congressional Croatian Caucus (CCC) and possible public affairs engagements with the new U.S. Ambassador to Croatia. As we forge ahead, we remain committed to these endeavors in Washington, DC, and beyond, and continue with our partnerships with local and national groups to advocate for Croatian American interests and strengthen our Croatian cultural bonds through diplomacy and cultural enrichment. 

This year, our goals hinge on the support of our community, as we seek their commitment of time, talent, and treasure to further our mission-driven work. With several key milestones outlined for 2025, we warmly invite you to join us in our collective efforts as we seek to.

Continue our advocacy for the Avoidance of Double Taxation Treaty by cooperating with an ACAP working committee, high-level Senators, and Congressional members of the CCC, with the goal of its ratification in the U.S. Senate. 

  1. Continue our community engagements with the Croatian Embassy to host in-person events, including a November 21st celebration event for the 1100th anniversary of King Tomislav’s coronation with Croatian medieval historians Dr. Tomislav Galović (Zagreb) and Zeljko Bartulović (Rijeka)  as featured speakers.
  2. Continue our popular Croatian History Series, including a webinar with Zeljko Zidarić on Ban Nikola Zrinski. 
  3. Continue the planning for our third induction ceremony for the Croatian American Sports Hall of Fame scheduled for October 2026, building on the success of our banquet held in Pittsburgh on October 26, 2024.
  4. Maintain our role as a primary fundraising organization for the Special Olympics based in Zagreb, Croatia.
