Vedran Solaja was born and raised on October 1, 1982 in Zagreb, Croatia. He attended public elementary and high schools in Zagreb and played team handball for the handball club Zagreb until the age of 15 when his family moved to Brazil for his father’s work (Zvonko Solaja is a seasoned Croatian diplomat). Vedran received an American High School diploma from the Escola Americana de Brasilia (EAB) in 2001. Vedran attended Wartburg College in Iowa, where he graduated in 2005 with the degree in International Business and Marketing. Upon graduation, Vedran moved to Los Angeles, California. He was involved with the St. Anthony’s Croatian Church in Los Angeles, the Croatian Cultural Center of Greater Los Angeles and the Croatian-American Club in San Pedro, California. Vedran moved to New Jersey in 2011 to live with his wife Diane Kolanovic-Solaja. He helps small businesses find their niche in marketing to expand and continues to be involved in the Croatian community.
